Founded

Champagne Delamotte was founded in 1760 at Le Mesnil-sur-Oger — a small village at the heart of the Cîte des Blancs — making it one of the oldest Champagne houses in the world.

For more than 260 years, the house has remained true to a single philosophy: to express the unique character of this singular terroir with precision, restraint, and an unwavering dedication to quality. No shortcuts. No compromise.

The Salon Connection

Sister House to Salon

Since 1988, Champagne Delamotte has been the sister house to Salon — widely regarded as the most exclusive Champagne in the world. Both houses share the same Grand Cru vineyard sources in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, and the same winemaking team oversees production at both houses.

In years where Salon is not declared as a vintage, those exceptional Chardonnay grapes flow into the Delamotte cuvĂ©es — giving Delamotte access to fruit of extraordinary quality.

HOUSE FOUNDED

Founded in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger at the heart of the Grand Cru CÎte des Blancs, Champagne Delamotte began its legacy of Chardonnay mastery under François-Marc Delamotte.

1838

ROYAL APPOINTMENT

Appointed official purveyor to the House of Orléans - a landmark recognition of quality that cemented Delamotte among the most distinguished champagne houses of the era.

1927

A new guardian

Marie-Louise de Nonancourt assumes stewardship of Delamotte, establishing the house firmly in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and safeguarding its artisanal tradition through turbulent decades.

1948

The next generation

Charles de Nonancourt takes the helm, guiding Delamotte with a commitment to terroir-driven winemaking and preserving the house's intimate, craft-focused identity.

1988

SISTER TO SALON

Laurent-Perrier unites Salon and Delamotte under one roof in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, joining two iconic Mesnil houses and reinforcing their shared devotion to Grand Cru Chardonnay.

2026

AUSTRALIA LAUNCH

Champagne Delamotte arrives direct-to-consumer in Australia for the first time - offering exclusive cellar-door allocations, curated vintage releases, and Grand Cru CĂŽte des Blancs excellence.
