A Great Champagne

What separates a great Champagne from a fine one? At Delamotte, it begins in the soil.

The Philosophy

Precision Over Performance

At Delamotte, greatness in Champagne is not achieved through winemaking intervention — it is allowed. The role of the winemaker is to step back, to select carefully, and to trust in what the Cîte des Blancs provides.

Chardonnay from the Grand Cru villages of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger, and Avize carries a mineral tension that cannot be manufactured. The chalk subsoil beneath these vines creates a freshness and longevity in the finished wine that is uniquely Champagne — and uniquely Delamotte.

The Foundation

Three Pillars of Quality

01

The Terroir

Grand Cru villages of the CĂŽte des Blancs provide Chardonnay of unrivalled minerality and precision. Le Mesnil-sur-Oger is the epicentre.

02

The Selection

Only the finest parcels are selected for the Delamotte cuvées. Consistency of character, not volume, drives every decision.

03

The Time

Delamotte wines rest on their lees far longer than the appellation minimum — building complexity, texture, and the toasty depth that defines mature Champagne.

WINEMAKING

MADE BY HAND. AGED BY TIME.

PRESSING

Only the first pressing, the cuvĂ©e, is used — ensuring freshness and purity in the base wines.

FERMENTATION

Temperature-controlled in stainless steel to preserve the clean, mineral character of the Chardonnay.

LEES AGEING

Minimum 36 months on lees for the non-vintage; 96 months or more for the Millésimé.

DISGORGEMENT

Hand-riddled and disgorged to order. Each bottle carries a disgorgement date for full traceability.
